Social Care Emergency Duty Team

The Telford & Wrekin Council Emergency Duty Team (EDT) is available for people with physical disabilities. It provides an emergency social work service for urgent situations which arise out of normal office hours and which cannot be left with an appropriate degree of safety until the next normal working day.

When does the service operate?

Monday to Thursday 5pm to 9am. From 5pm Friday through to Monday 9am. Also during Bank and Public holidays

The service can be accessed via a call centre telephone 01952 676500.

Requests for assistance are taken by the call centre who then alert the duty social worker immediately. Requests are prioritised by the duty social worker. Although response times will vary, they aim to make an initial contact within 30 minutes.
